[APR25] Strange dream

It’s such a strange feeling. Everything looks bright, heavenly, warm and familiar, but all in an odd way. It feels too right, too perfect, but in a wrong way. What is this place?

Micah looks around, not a single soul to be seen but themself. A big landscape, all around with no ending, countless hills with strange and empty houses, not a single person or even a single butterfly in the flowers. Is this hell? Did they die last night and are now in the purgatory waiting for their punishment? This already feels like a punishment. 

Micah decided to take a deep breath, to calm themself. Maybe this is just a weird dream, or a nightmare for what it looks like but definitely not a real thing. Even the grass feels strange to the touch.

Walking in the path, they tried to open the door of one of the houses. Like everything, inside also looks too perfect, not a single dust in the furniture or out of place.

“Hello? Is there anyone here?” They asked, hesitantly, not knowing if they wanted an answer or not. With no response, Micah decided to head to the stairs.

Nothing unusual happened in that house, until they got to the second floor. Stranger corridors that lead to nowhere, not a single door that you would find in a normal house, some weird and blur-like pictures in the walls, more stairs.. Micah was pretty sure the house only had two floors outside. What seemed like many minutes of walking, they finally found a door.

Seeing shadows moving under the door, they knocked. No one answered. Hesitantly, they open the door only to find again the big and green landscape. How the- Aren't they on who-knows-floor before? And, even if every house was the same, they know this isn't the same house they was before.

What a real strange dream. Aren't you supposed to wake up after you know this is all a dream?

For a while, Micah tried over and over again, entering in any house that they thought was the right one, all of them leading to the same place. For Micah, hours have passed doing this, and they decided to just follow the same path all the doors end up leading them. Maybe this weird dream wants to say something to them.

Micah feels uncomfortable, they notice how the sun is still in the same place and how the clouds don't move any little since they start to have this dream. A frozen memory from their subconscious? Micah doesn't have too many memories from their childhood and it will explain the familiar feeling. But stars, if this place is something from their childhood, they're glad to not have a single memory about it.

After more hours of walking, they hit their head on something. An invisible wall? No, it's more like the walls of this place. A dome wall painted with the infinity landscape if they think better. That's why the sun or everything here doesn't move… Well, if they get in there somehow, they can get out.

Back to walking and running their hand along the wall, they found the handle. Happy to finally get out of there, they burst open the door, finding only pitch black everywhere, having no time to react and falling into the emptiness below them. 

Micah suddenly wakes up sitting in the bed, breathing heavily, the ink-kind substance of his hair running down their faces, mixing with the tears. Their heart feels fast, but also tight and empty at the same time. They feel confused but also missing something. That place feels like it’s calling them, calling Micah to get back.

They look at the clock, how it's still too early in the dawn? Shaking their head, they decided to think about that in the morning, laying in their bed to try to sleep again. Micah just hopes to not dream about this place again.
